Rex Knowles has received over 30 Los Angeles Drama Critics' awards for his productions, including Best Production, Best Director and Best Ensemble. He produced the Equity Waiver production of Sherry Landrum and George S. Clinton's That Other Woman's Child to critical acclaim and Smoky Mountain Suite for stage and for PBS television. Other theatrical productions include the premieres of Del Shore's Cheatin' and Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got the Will?, and Rosemary Alexander's Bachlorette Pary. All three were picked as Critic's Choice during their successful runs. Mr. Knowles co-produced BMTV, Bizarre Music Television, a comedy music video compilation for Rhino Records, distributed by RCA. He produced the comedy improvisation groups CalTrans which performed during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Arts Festival, and Chattanoodle an award-winning troupe in Tennessee. Mr. Knowles is Executive Director of the Chattanooga State Repertory Theatre and head of the theatre department at Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
